Types of air conditioner
Based on the type of compressor used, air conditioners can be categorized into inverter AC and traditional AC.
Traditional (fixed-speed) air conditioners
This traditional type of AC is also known as fixed-speed air conditioners. As its name suggests, this type of AC relies on a fixed-speed compressor. The compressor runs at full capacity until the set temperature is reached, then it completely shuts off. This cycle of on-and-off operation can be noisy, less efficient, and lead to temperature fluctuations in the room.
Inverter air conditioners
Inverter air conditioners use a variable speed compressor. This means the compressor can adjust its motor speed based on the cooling needs of the room. When the desired temperature is reached, the compressor slows down instead of completely shutting off.
Inverter AC or Fixed-speed AC?
Overall, inverter AC represent a more advanced and efficient air conditioning technology yet have a higher initial cost compared to fixed-speed models. While the long-term energy savings, improved comfort, and quieter operation can make inverter AC a worthwhile investment, non-inverter AC is also a good choice if you are on a budget.
How to choose the right air conditioner size for your room

What is BTU in an air conditioner?
BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. It is the standard measurement of an air conditioner's cooling power—specifically, how much heat it can remove from a room in one hour. A higher BTU rating means greater cooling capacity.
Matching the AC's BTU to your room's size is essential. An underpowered unit will run constantly without effectively cooling the space, while an overpowered unit will cool the room too quickly and shut off before it can properly dehumidify the air, leaving it feeling cold and clammy.
