Five things to check before buying a countertop RO water purifier

1. Filtration and international certification

Start by looking beyond the number of filter stages. Both Electrolux models use four-stage RO filtration with a pre-filter, activated carbon, an RO filter and a coconut-shell carbon post-filter. Remineralisation adds calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium ions to refine the taste.

Both models carry the WQA Gold Seal. SGS testing found 100% removal of residual chlorine and microplastics, over 99% lead removal, and over 99.9% removal of tested bacteria and norovirus.

2. Materials and hygiene

A stainless-steel drip tray provides a durable surface beneath the outlets. SGS testing also found no detectable BPA in the purified water.

The 700 uses separate UVC protection for its clean-water and cold-water tanks. Testing found removal of up to 99.97% of bacteria in the clean-water tank and up to 99.88% in the cold-water tank. The 600 periodically treats its clean-water tank with UVC, removing over 99% of tank bacteria in testing.

3. Operating noise

The 700 uses compressor cooling, which the manufacturer describes as quiet. No measured noise figure is available, so consider where it will sit in an open-plan condo.

The 600 has no compressor, so there is no cooling noise to weigh against your need for chilled water.

4. Energy use

Both models heat water on demand rather than keeping a full hot-water tank warm. Each has 1,500 W heating power and a 1,600 W rated power figure.

The 700 also uses 80 W for cooling. Its cooling on/off switch lets you turn that function off when chilled water is unnecessary.

5. Temperatures, volumes and tank capacity

Both models offer six hot-water settings from 45, 55, 65, 75, 85 and 98°C plus ambient water. Follow tea and coffee packaging for preparation guidance. The 700 adds two cold ranges of 5–12°C and 13–20°C, supported by a 0.5-litre cold tank that refills in about 9 minutes.

Preset dispensing makes everyday serving effortless. The 700 provides presets of 120, 180, 250, 350, 500 and 750 mL, while the 600 offers 250 and 500 mL, alongside manual dispensing on both models. Both purifiers include a child lock for family safety. Their intuitive touch panels display raw and clean-water TDS, a colour water-quality indicator, filter life with replacement reminders and a low-water light.

Choose the right purifier for your home

The 700 suits households wanting hot, ambient and chilled water from one appliance. Its larger raw-water tank, two outlets and six volume presets support young families and frequent entertaining in Thailand's warm, humid climate.

The compact 600 suits condos with less counter space and households prioritising hot and ambient purified water. Its slimmer body still provides RO filtration, UVC tank hygiene and temperature control.
